  • Demonstrate knowledge of the relevant electrical and other Standards and supply industry regulations relating to arc flash, risk assessment and safety in the workplace.

Terminology
Learning outcomes:

  • Demonstrate knowledge of the terminology associated with arc flash and arc blast.

High Energy Electrical Safety
Learning outcomes:

  • Identify what is an electrical high energy situation.
  • Use electrical calculations to define the electrical energy throughput of a transformer.

Arc Flash
Learning outcomes:

  • Demonstrate the knowledge to assess if an arc flash hazard exists in a work environment. Describe what constitutes an arc flash hazard.
  • Demonstrate the knowledge to protect yourself from an arc flash.

Arc Flash Energy
Learning outcomes:

  • Explain what constitutes arc flash energy.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the criteria that determines the level of arc flash energy.

Incident Energy
Learning outcomes:

  • Explain what constitutes incident energy.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of how incident energy is calculated.
  • Understand how incident energy is dependent on distance from the incident energy source.

Arc Blast
Learning outcomes:

  • Identify the properties of an electric arc.
  • Understand the results of what causes an arc blast.
  • Demonstrate the knowledge to protect yourself from an arc blast.

Arc Flash Boundary and Labels
Learning outcomes:

  • Identify what constitutes an arc flash boundary.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work within an arc flash boundary.

PPE Categories and PPE
Learning outcomes:

  • Identify what is a PPE category.
  • Demonstrate the knowledge to select the correct PPE for the level of HRC.
  • Understand when it is not safe to proceed with the work.

Risk Analysis
Learning outcomes:

  • Identify that a risk assessment must be performed before work commences.
  • Demonstrate the use of a risk matrix to determine the level of risk of a task.

Responsibilities and Reporting
Learning outcomes:

  • Identify the requirements for reporting hazards.
  • Understand the responsibilities for working in an arc hazard zone.
Course Cost

Accredited arc flash training involves a one-day classroom course or the completion of fve online modules. Learners who successfully complete the course, will be issued with a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment.

Onsite Course 1 Day

  • $3000 - Plus travel, meals, car hire & accommodation costs outside of the Perth metropolitan area
  • Maximum of 10 per course

Online Course

  • $300 per participant

Arc Flash Training for Non-Electrically Trained Operators

Course Overview

This course is designed to give non-electrically trained people who operated electrical switchgear, an understanding of the hazards of arc flash and why they should wear the required PPE.

Course Cost

On-site course fees negotiable

Online Course

  • $110 per participant

Fees can be paid through a credit card, via an invoice from PayPal or a company purchase order can be accepted.

Arc Flash Awareness Workshop for Supervisors of Electrical Workers

Course Overview

This course is designed to make people who are responsible for electrical workers, an understanding of arc flash hazards that electrical workers face, during working on or close to energised electrical equipment. Why they need to wear the correct PPE and the requirements for risk assessments.

Course Cost

On-site ½ day workshop

  • Within the 100km of Perth City, $1500 per course
  • Outside 100km of Perth City,
  • 1 course $2000 per course, plus travel and accommodation costs or
  • 2 consecutive course per day $1500 per course, plus travel and accommodation costs

We can review your arc flash situation, arc flash requirements and make recommendations. This could include, arc flash studies, labelling, PPE, etc. Carry out inspections and produce reports on arc flash hazard situations.
